Title: Movers and Shaker
Post by: Dingo on November 13, 2011, 08:02:58 PM
Jonathan Ferguson is our only cruncher in this NON- BOINC project (http://www.majestic12.co.uk/projects/dsearch/teaminfo.php?id=94) but he is keeping us in the world rankings being 47th Overall and 24th today.   I had a look at his profile and he has not visited the forum for over 643 days but great jobanyway and he is still crunching a bit on BOINC.  :yahoo: :congrats :congrats

I saw a web crawler in the logs of my web site with this name today.  I had forgotten all about this non BOINC project but Jonathan Ferguson is still going strong by the looks of it as the only Team member crunching here.  Well done Jonathan  :cheer1:  :congrats :congrats

I only recommenced reading the forum earlier this week after many years of absenteeism.

Sometime Saturday or earlier today I crawled my 2,000,000,000 URL
Currently listed as 2,000,528,248 URLs which equates to 46,147,313MB or 44.0095072 Terabytes.

Imagine how much more I could have done if TPG were not down for 115 entire days in the year 2011, and 2 additional days down due to the incompetence of the TIO to coordinate the changeover to Dodo.

In the history of this project I started with Ozemail dial-up, then Dodo 256/64kbps ADSL, then TPG business 1,536/256kbps ADSL, then TPG ADSL2+, then Dodo ADSL2+.

Since my return to Dodo, I've lost only one entire day.

Imagine again, how much more I could do if I could get the 10GPON Julia promised all those years ago.

Update on this non BOINC project. Jonathon has continued crunching since the last post in 2015 and has now in position 32 in the world.  He crawled 5,232,291,439 sites and used 133,453,974Mb of bandwidth. He is the only one in the Team and the project is not open to new members.  He has done a magnificent job holding the flag for the Team and the Team is in 29th place overall and over the past 30 days in 19th Position.
