The goal of FreeRainbowTables.com is to prove the insecurity of using simple hash routines to protect valuable passwords, and force developers to use more secure methods.
By distributing the generation of rainbow chains, we can generate HUGE rainbow tables that are able to crack longer passwords than ever seen before.
Furthermore, we are also improving the rainbow table technology, making them even smaller and faster than rainbow tables found elsewhere, and the best thing is, those tables are freely available to download from our site!
By installing and running the BOINC client available from our download page, you can help us to speed up the generation even more.

hee hee Mr WS  :wink (as i can't find the :poke smiley), good post

and a needed security project for a change but, may i ask - where is YOUR name on the B@A credit list??? eh, eh, EH ???

As you have correctly spotted, this is not a project I participate in. I cannot do them all. I listed it because it was marked as inactive in our forum, when in fact it is actively delivering work. It had been closed for quite a while but is now back. I noticed this as I spotted an Australian participant (not in our team) producing over 400K per DAY in it.

Vajras

Excellent response +1 for your efforts - and dangit, stop posting and get out there and recruit that 400k man  :thanks1:

Wang Solutions

That was my original goal. Unfortunately he is in another team and therefore off limits ...

hmm.. one of his machines say it has an average of 258,586.. a Q6600.. and they are taking 6000+ seconds per WU.. there is now WAY that machine is earning that per day ....

Stats can lie...   I mean, have a look at my RAC on PrimeGrid (over 150k).  I can explain THAT one.  But I dunno about this project.  Could be a lot of computers were merged.  Could be cheating.  Could be a glitch in the system.  Could be there's a cluster behind it, but it's reporting as one computer.  Who knows...

veebee

well I put one of my q6600's on it just in case !!! (plus a little resources on the others as well... might as well make a reasonable start.. though I wont give it long... not keen on the "science". (or lack of it actually).

Hello, is there anybody out there???

Does anyone still crunch this project, just thought I would ask, as they are starting to filter through ATI opencl jobs, I believe its still in the alpha stage, but I managed to grab a 1 job this morning (Tues 03-04 @ 0037 utc aka 0837 WST)

Runs at .0969 CPU and 1 ATI GPU, haven't completed it as yet, as I had 2 POEM GPU Jobs completing.

Will advise once I know that it completes okay and validates.  :sg1:

Yes I used to run it on my NVIDIA PC for a while.  It was just NVIDIA then but I see they now have one windows ATI app.  It gives great credit but not sure of the value of the crunching.  I have two duel ATI video PC's but can't afford the electricity to run ATI apps very much.

Gee - with an opening line like that, I was expecting a misquote and link

Amazing video, my first encounter was with The Wall, at a friends party, near on full vol and it was mind blowing (sadly I was only drunk)

Happy crunching
