Hi, I was just wondering if there are any Linux distros that are primarily Aussie based. Like, I know PuppyLinux is one, but are there any others? Just out of curiosity.

Thanks  :aus1:

Tinysofa is discontinued, but it was an Aussie distro targeted at servers.  I ran it on my web site and dev servers for a while until going to CentOS.  I think I even made a donation to it.

I'm sure there are others but I don't know of any significant efforts.  Maybe check out some of the regional Linux groups like SLUG.

So many of the major Linux players are Australian it hardly matters. Occasionally some fool pops up on LUV and says something like, "What the F**ing hell would you know penis breath?!?!?" Just to get a response of, "I completely redesigned the module and have been the maintainer since 1999."  Now that's a ROFLMAO.

I can't remember specific modules but don't be surprised if they include Exim and Bind.  :shock

The stand out for me is Dr Andrew Tridgell's amazing work on Samba.  However I'm not aware of any current home-baked distro (other than Puppy).  Does Novell now do much of the Suse work here?
