Hi

If you read the Project information you will see that this project requires a sensor to run it.  d_worms is the only member at this time that is participating in this project.  He has acquired four sensors from BOINC@POLAND that he will give to the four winners as follows:   Only nominate you name if you can run the project continually Regularly.  I believe that it is one of those projects that rarely uses the CPU.

QuoteI'm planing on running a one week competition on Rosetta@Home which will start 01/11/2012 at 00:00 UTC .  The  the top four participants with the highest credits after this week will receive a radioactive@home sensor kindly donated by boinc@poland team members.  Members that are interested please give your names on this post.  Nominations will cease at 31/10/2012 at 00:00 UTC.

URL to find out the start time where you are is:
http://www.worldtimeserver.com/convert_time_in_UTC.aspx?y=2012&mo=11&d=01&h=0&mn=00

Dingo will run the competition for me and will give daily statistics etc.

d_worms has been good enough to give me a sensor and for that I am very thankful.  Good luck and happy crunching.

Rosetta was picked by d_worms.  The credits over the week are only counted not what was there before the week started so anyone has a chance.

I thought that a chance for a free sensor would go fast.  Must be wrong no takers yet :hbang:

I would have but I don't run my laptop full time and I don't need any extra Rosetta points for a while.  :cry2:

EDIT: Just in case my sense of humour is not quite up to scratch (no chance of that).  YES I would like a chance at getting one  of the device's,  if that's cool with d_worms that is?

Looking at the way the work units run just like other BOINC Tasks I guess you do not have to have the PC on continually, just regularly.

Well, you do have a taker if D_worms consider that I should have one.  Up to now, I just did not have the extra cash or inclination to purchase one since it cost money that I am kind of short.  D-Worms what you need from me to get one of those things?  Mind you, I am kind of untrustworthy of Aust Post in view that LawryB sent me an AMD GPU that appeared to be not delivered to me yet we were both home on the day concerned or it was stolen by some one as it was in open view of the front porch so anybody going past must have thought there is a free gift waiting for them.

Not much interest hmmm  :cry2:
Com on aussie come on.....  :cheer1: it is only 1 week competition

I'll give it a go!  I didn't see this post earlier.  So I've just re-attached to Rosetta - it's been a while since my last Rosetta-crunching  :cheer1:

I'm tempted although do have two questions - do the sensors need to be put anywhere in particular (inside, near window / external wall, etc?) and do they need external power to the USB port?

I have mine in my computer room next to the computer.  They use a USB port and the cable is about a metre long so near the computer is where it goes.
