Thanks for the heads up.

I'll be staying with earlier 7.6.9 and 7.6.18 beta versions for a while. Tried 7.6.21 beta for a bit and it gave very low BOINC benchmarks, which meant lower credit rate for some neglected projects I'm getting up to 100K. Don't know if 7.6.22 would also benchmark low, not taking the time to test it for now.

Made another silly choice too. Jumped on a project that hadn't had any work for ages and wondered why credit rate initially varied then settled so low. Aargh, foul CreditNew strikes again, outta there quick smart when I realised my error. Some others, even Leiden, will get topped up to 100K but VGTU will remain untouched until they get their mind right.

I tried the new version and it seems to have a problem with networking.  I attach to boinc clients through the manager and can't get it to work reliably with the new version.

Haha, that's certainly not a ringing endorsement. Ah well, you can always go back to an earlier version like I did.

Happy New Year. :crazy

Dingo

Yes went back to 7.4.42 as I know it works well for me anyway.

Hi guys,

I'm not sure if this is related to the new BOINC version but has anyone else noticed that their team position for each project is missing in BOINCstats?
Sometimes some are there and today none but my overall team position is there.

Strange.  ::)

Yes I have some showing but most are missing as well.  Must be a BoincStats problem I think and not BoincManager.

Boinc Stats in not in good shape & seems to be running on a wing & a prayer at the moment. Boinc Stats is currently not updating new hosts & is only updating stats every 4 hours to reduce the load on the servers.  See note on front page  http://boincstats.com/en

Willy is waiting on a payout from an on going campaign at Bitcoin Utopia to replace most of his ageing SSD's.

It seems he was thinking of shutting down altogether :(  https://boincstats.com/en/forum/8/10516

So if you value Boinc Stats and can spare a dollar please donate. If you can't donate a post of support would be helpful.

This is a link to the donation page if you can help.  He accepts payments via paypal, credit/debit card or bitcoin. Apparently his running costs haven't been met for some time.  http://boincstats.com/en/page/donate

Like many i've spent a huge amount of time at Boinc Stats over the years so even with a donation or two I figure i'm still getting off quite cheaply :)

Crunch-on...
:oz:

PS Oh and be warned donations are in euro's so for example €60 euro = $100 ozzie dollars.  So do the conversion before hand.(Google's your friend)

I can only second what Jugnut stated. BOINCStats provides an amazing service for free and at great cost to Willie. I have contributed before but not nearly as much or as often as I could/should. I admit dealing with PayPal and its currency exchange rates from USD to Euros is a pain in the butt however once established it is painless. B@A has done a great job contributing to Kiva so maybe we can do something for BOINCStats as a team. If you have some "jingle" left in your pocket after the holidays, you might want to consider it.

I use BOINCSTATS everyday although I do not have spare $$ I have signed up to contribute € 5.00 a month for 12 months.  I contribute to projects from time to time but I think boincstats would be missed it if could not afford to function.

Good on you Dingo. I too set up a small contribution. Like crunching, a lot of small bits add up to something large.  v:

Good on ya Dingo & Dataman.    + 1
I think many people would go through withdrawal symptoms without their daily dose of Boinc Stats.  I know I would. :faint:

Well I'm not in a position financially to donate but I'll run Campaign #6 for Bitcoin Utopia which is to fund the new SSD's for BOINCstats.
At least I can help that way!
