Yes Dataman I have one on a powered USB hub and one connected to the USB on the PC and both seem to be working OK.  The first one that ran quick must have been a fluke as they are both running tasks at between 2750 and 3200 milliseconds which is @ 3000 milliseconds it is 1,440,000 credits per task per hour.  Where the Geckos run about 7000 milliseconds so get 617, 142 per task per hour.

I had trouble using zadig to get the correct driver.  I first forgot that I needed the WINUSB with the WCID driver selected then I had to reboot a couple of time as windows 10 would only see one at a time, but fixed now.  :banghead

Yes if anyone wants any specific smileys just send me a PM with a link if possible.

EDIT:  Spoke too soon as I had a look at the stderr.txt and it is not finding the correct driver again on one of the U3's but not sure which one as there is no blue light to see if it is running ? ??

EDIT again: 15:44  I rebooted and successfully installed the driver again on the one that reverted to the old driver.  When I rebooted again I plugged it into the powered hub so they are both in there now and seem to be running OK.  In the process I went to Device Manager and tried to revert from the windows to the WINUSB but it did not work but it did ask me why I was changing and one of the options was "did not work on windows driver" so maybe it won't revert again :fingers

Just wait and see know when it finishes and gets a new task.

Greetings All

Well it looks like I am late to the party again, since GPU's became redundant on this project.

Going to have to have a look around on EBAY and see whats available and what will crunch on the BITCOIN project.

Oh well lifes like that sometimes.

Happy Crunching

Wow, a billion in a day, that's a power of mining. As Yosemite Sam would say: "You must have dug clear through to Chinee". v:

Thanks for the heads up about the new campaign, will change over now.

LOL Kashi!
A pic of "The Ant Hill".
One of the new U3's is not doing well but I am going to put them on a Superbpak powered hub and see if it makes a difference. I am using all USB ports on that machine now. Oh boy, another 70W hub.
When I get my next electricity bill I may be posting from the cardiac ward of my local hospital.

WOW Dataman..... Yes... you're lucky you don't live in Australia.... the power bill would indeed give you a heart attack.

I see Daniel has joined the party also  :congrats

The team is really humming along now :)

Edit - I think there was one of those credit irregularities last night where everyone got extra credits. I received 41Mil which isn't correct as my hardware hasn't changed from 2 working Geckos.
Probably receive less credits today.

Hey Tazzduke, this guy is in Australia and selling 2 x Butterfly labs 60GH/s devices. He says he'll also throw in a PSU if you buy both.
These are on the approved list.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Butterfly-Labs-60gh-s-SC-ASIC-Bitcoin-Miner-buy-2-for-free-EVGA-500W-PSU-/162369274839?hash=item25cdf683d7:g:m4oAAOSw5cNYhpvO

Can't say whether his pricing is good or not as I haven't really been looking at the Butterfly Labs stuff much. There was a 30GH/s unit for sale on the US eBay for USD$40.00 (AUD$53.00) so if this unit is a 60GH/s unit then I guess the pricing is fair.
Apparently Butterfly labs made a 30GH/s unit and a 60GH/s unit...... not sure how you tell the difference between the two when looking at them.

I saw one ebay add that said "60GH/s" unit in the main heading but in the finer print it said "this is the 30GH/s version". It was pretty misleading so be wary of that trap.

Personally I'll stick to the U3's as I have a 3yr old and the larger hardware with PSU's just don't look at child friendly for my place.  :crazy

Goodluck mate!

Gday Chooka03

Yeah I saw that as well, but I just spent my budget replacing my GTX 580 (YEah this one really hurts on the powerbill and gets so bloody hot).

GPUS that I have crunching (when it cools down a bit) 2 x GTX 960's (which roughly equates to 1 GTX 580) and 1 x GTX 770

I found a USB Antminer U1 1GH/s but I just got outbid and I aint paying anymore than 50 dollars for a USB miner lol

Least you aint running a power monster like my R9 390 :(
Yeah ASIC miners are fetching stupid prices imo.

As people upgrade to newer miners though, we might see more of the smaller ones come on the market.

Serendipity: means a "fortunate happenstance" or "pleasant surprise". It was coined by Horace Walpole in 1754. In a letter he wrote to a friend, Walpole explained an unexpected discovery he had made by reference to a Persian fairy tale, The Three Princes of Serendip.

We were out and about yesterday and stopped by the local Flea Market. Not much going on in the middle of Winter but I saw a table of computer parts. 99% obsolete junk but then ... then I spied it ... on the edge of the table ... standing proud ... gleaming in the sun ... a shiny U3! I played dumb (not a big reach for me   ) and asked, "What does this do?" " I don't know," he said, "but give me $5 and you can find out." I gave him $5!!! No cable or PSU and I don't know if it works but for $5 (free shipping   ) it is worth it. Did not plan to install anymore but what can I say? It was fate.

One of the new U3's is performing badly ... not much better than a Gecko. Question is, "Which one?"

Goliath requires a power cycle (turn PSU off then back on) about every 3 days or it starts to get slower. Hot plug does not work. No big deal.

Bought a RPi 2 model B w/case on eBay for $6.52 (free shipping). Time I learn how to use one. There is a BOINC app for it.
