Urgent request for blood donations

Thanks to Cyclone Alfred many donation centres in Qld are closed resulting in a significant shortfall of blood and plasma supplies which will be critical for those injured during the cyclone event.  Please consider booking into your nearest donation centre as soon as you can.

Hi DA. I have donated blood in the past, and would gladly do so again, but my iron levels are low (unknown anemia) so I can't!!

BUT to anyone thinking of donating - do it! The canula isn't that painful (like getting scratched with a stick) and you're helping someone that needs extra blood. It's a really worthwhile thing to do.

I'm in Brisbane and personally I expecting a big non event.
I pass out easily when it comes to blood (well my own anyway, I'm fine if it's someone else's blood lol) 
A worthy cause though.

You can't donate whole blood but you still could be able to donate plasma or platelets.  All three are needed as they're missing a thousand donations (combined) a day with everything shut down.
