On 3 occassions now I have had the blue screen of death. When I restart the computer I get this message.
programdata\boinc\projects
This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way.
Please contact the application support team for more information.
I'm running windows 7
Thanks Shep
Could be lots of things. Sounds like you may be running BOINC as a service. Sometimes this can cause problems as the videocard doesn't initialise properly and causes instability with BOINC and Windows 7.
If you are running BOINC as a service you could try completely uninstalling BOINC and then reinstalling it not as a service.
Also check the normal things; test memory, run scandisk, reinstall video card drivers, etc. Check for possible relevant error messages in Event Viewer.
Not much to go on, do bluescreens only happen when BOINC is running? If so which project, SETI or Climate Prediction?
With my old computer, bluescreens or screen freezes used to happen more often during summer due to the computer overheating. With my current computer problems are usually related to the video card.
Hope you get it sorted.
Welcome to the forum, +1 karma for your first post. :wavey2:
Hiya Shep, a big welcome from me also - great to see you posting !
Just reading the above couple of posts has confuzzled me as to what may cause it, as I am tunning Win 7 Ultimate x64 and have been since the 7600 version free trials came out - NEVER had a BSOD (touching a piece of wood and typing single handedly atm ...)
After having read a few of the google results (entered search string in various ways)... do you happen to be running Climate Prediciton ?? The reason I ask is a few people have found their similar errors point towards CPDN.. they removed it from the Computer and problem solved.
Try looking at your Windows Event Viewer which application is causing this. Start->Administrative Tools->Event Viewer, either Custom or Windows logs.... that's all I can suggest so far...
