Title: The Other Deep Blue
Post by: Dataman on January 19, 2019, 03:12:43 AM
Deep Blue is one of the largest living great whites on record. It likes to hang out near Hawaii (who wouldn't?). Is this free diver friggin' nuts or what? Natural Selection in action ... the dumb get eaten.

That's fantastic!

I don't know the background on that particular shark but a group of us went on a shark dive in Vanuatu. Before entering the water, the dive guide told us there was a very large female Tiger Shark that would sometimes join the Grey Nurse sharks.
After about 5 minutes, she appeared for us. The  Nurse Sharks didn't react to her presence at all and she swam around us, occasionally taking a free feed from the fish bits on offer. She seemed to be more polite or timid than the Nurse Sharks.

However, I take no responsibility if you decide to test if the two cases are similar. White Sharks have a tiny brain for sharks and who knows if their behaviour is at all predictable.   :BigGrin
