Title: Optus meltdown
Post by: jave808 on November 08, 2023, 12:03:54 PM
Who here has been affected by the Optus meltdown today? My internet is up, and is my mobile (I'm with TPG who use the Vodafone network)

Yes I swapped over to AussieBroadband Mobile and they use OPTUS.  No phone no data on the phone.  I think I will transfer back to Telstra as they are the best I have ever had but are expensive.  As I was typing I got three text messages so must be back up ??

3 of us in the family here, OPTUS, so would have been stuffed if we needed to talk to each other if we were not in the vicinity of a land line lol.

I was swapping phones over this morning, one display carked it, so a backup was required, yet it is over 6 years old with no updates since 2021, it it wouldn't work, so for about half n hour I was cursing, until the penny dropped when I heard it on the radio lol.

Wasn't funny then, but now I look back on it, bloody hilarious

I enjoyed the peace. The Internet is with Superloop and didn't go down. Hmm, I could do with a week of no phones.  :wink
