Title: Hantavirus spread on cruise ship
Post by: Abruraspingi on May 08, 2026, 06:28:23 PM
With all this talk about the Hantavirus many are speculating that countries will lock down just like during COVID.

Currently all I care about is if we'll have a new deluge of Work Units and people crunching for BOINC and Folding@Home

I hope not.  I am going to Singapore for month on 01 Jun to 01 July and had two injections yesterday recommended by my doctor.  Hep C and Diphtheria which can be caught by eating food there.  I have travel insurance but may not cover a pandemic if it gets to that.

Singapore is a nice country. I quite enjoyed the Gardens by the Bay, the Cloud Forest and Aquarium. I'm looking forward to going back and experiencing the new Aquarium.

Unfortunately since Singapore is a global destination and trading hub so thry get hit by zoonotic diseases.

Though I am expecting that it won't get overblown like COVID did. I do hope for more projects though
