Title: eBay special
Post by: Furlozza on February 04, 2009, 11:43:51 AM
I know... I know.... you guys (or some of you) can make one cheaper..... but I couldn't resist throwing in the opening bid, since there was no reserve and just look at the case they are offering (check below to see the caveat they put on it)

Fingers crossed (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&item=280309787859#ebayphotohosting)

Oh and on the email confirming my bid, there was a mention of a buy it now price............. but when I bid I saw no such thing.

It has been removed. Guess I asked the wrong question.

It was an AMD quad (2.2GHz) with 9500GT card and 4 MB RAM, 450W PSU 500GB HD and opening bid was $2, so I put in a max of $31 *grin*

AH well, wonder if I'll get a reply to my email? (Querying the Case.... definitely a Cooler Master Cosmos was shown in the pics)

EDIT: Shoulda checked my emails before replying.....

Sounds like it may have been dodgy business.

They had at least four different AMD puters up for auction and one actually had 15 bids and was up to $151, whereas the others had either one or maybe three bids.

They were supposedly a Qld Firm that had been in business for 10 years, "had cut out the local middlemen and dealt directly" with their suppliers.

Given that the majority of folks/businesses that deal via eBay usually have fully detailed descriptions, usually with upgrades, sometimes with or without OSes and even a choice of MB, well, this place did look too good to be true, and then when I saw the pic of the box.... and THEN went to Cooler MAster and checked out the Cosmos, and then came back and looked at the price in Oz ($300+).... fired off the email.

To bad they weren't legit..... methinks The Gnat woulda liked being transposed into a Cosmos box *grin*, especially if the winning bid came in around 250 bucks plus 45 bucks postage *grin*

Strangely though, theres only one I7 listed at the moment...... and it is cheaper than some other boxes I've seen at other stores, but....... :shock
