Just saw it on the Boincstats shoutbox... have updated Boincmanager to 6.10.x (required) and have a WU on each of my i7's just to see how they go.
Poor Boy said they were "slow", but someone else said he was looking at 4 hrs crunching for 250 credits which isn't too bad....
- not a project to replace GPU grid, but for someone into Einstein its a way to use those cards which GPUgrid have "abandoned" (GTX260 and lower ??)
Bah, another CUDA only. Still I suppose it's always good for nVidia owners to have a few more GPU applications to choose from. :)

EDIT: Yikes, it use one whole CPU as well as the GPU. I don't think that will win them any fans.
My wingman finally finished. 250.00 credits for 10 hours using 1 core and one card. I don't think that is going to tempt me away from GPUGrid. :rofl:
Yeah, my i7's are taking a touch over 4 hours per WU... have deleted the rest.

Einstein is still a core only job, until someone comes along and decreases the need for a full core PLUS the GPU. (talk about screwing up an AA set-up)
Long time between drinks I know, but given the heat that has been afflicting us in NSW (and the humidity on the coast) decided to give the GPU wus another go on TheGnat. Here is what I can report:
1) STill does not use the GPU effectively. On the GTS250, it is using up to 25% of the card processing power, but with the temp in the room over 30.... (87F in old scale) it's operating temp sits at a respectable 68-69C.
2) Both cores are at lowish load.... core 1 < 30% and core 2 at 30-55% resulting in a temp of just 57C occasionally in one or the other core, but never above 60C which is what was happening even with just Spinhenge operating alone, furget about running a GPU project.
Tasks last about 1.5 hrs and return (when paired) 500Crs or 333 per hr. (beats spinhenge's hrly rate *grin*)
So, maybe if you have an Nvidia card sitting there doing nowt, and you want to get some credit whilst the heat lasts, maybe this is one alternative not considered in the past.
(overnight, I just run PrimeGrid... sometimes LOL)
