Hi,

Today I had to write a Windows 10 install ISO (from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO/) to a 8GB USB stick. When I was using Windows before, I used a program called Rufus.  BUT there is no Rufus for Linux!

So what to do? Some searching yielded a few results, but the best one I found (and used) was a bash script file called "bootiso".  You can download it here - https://github.com/jsamr/bootiso

Follow the instructions on the link above and you're ready to write your ISO image to USB!

If you have Linux and Windows machines you can use Rufus on the windows machine to create the Linux Install disk, thumb drive, then install it onto Linux.

Good to know that you can do it on Linux as well.

Yes, I do the same; create it on Win10 and install on Linux. Nice to know there is a Linux app. Bookmarked it. +1 Jave.

Have you looked at or tried Etcher ??

It is available for Windows, macOS and Linux. Also it is open source.

EDIT: On further inspection it doesn't look like it will do windows iso's.

But perhaps WoeUSB may do what you are looking for.

NudgeyNr - I tried WoeUSB, and didn't like it.  If only there was a Rufus port to Linux....
