New update from WCG

"September 25, 2025
BOINC scheduler and uploads are projected to be up Monday, September 29th, 2025 after a final weekend sprint to test the new deployment strategy for increased performance, event driven horizontal scaling, and reduced load on the BOINC database."

Well that lot of work did not last long, received approx 150 work units over night and it has dried up already - I do not understand what is going on with this project - nothing on the home page etc. :faint:

On their site there was mention of a stress test. They sent 100k units. Hopefully they sort it out soon. They communicate better than the ladt mob

QuoteWorld Community Grid: Research Update from the MCM Team (October 2025)
As we continue to explore top-scoring genes associated with the development of cancer through the Mapping Cancer Markers (MCM) project, we are excited to share a new research update! This article features NELL2 (Neural EGF-Like-Like protein 2), a gene that plays multiple roles in neural development and cell death regulation.

I'm running approx 200 tasks on my machines with continuous replenishment.

As GAIA has run out of work, I'm onto WCG, doing some MCM work.

chooka03

Well their system must be backed up with work to validate!
At least there's heaps of work.

Polaxis

I'm not getting any work on my Windows Machine with AMD CPU. I checked my WCG profile and activated all projects. But the project is also not even listing my name in my BOINC client.
I removed the project completely from BOINC and re-added it. To no avail.
What may I be missing here?

Mick Lindsay

Matt, all I can suggest is to logon to your profile in WCG and check you have the projects selected, if you already have completed this be patient as at times we are all serviced differently by the overarching architecture. At time I have had no work units but others in the team have plenty and visa versa. I often wonder about the IT personnel in this project.  :driver-crazy

Hi Polaxis,

As Mick suggested, I'd log into your account on WCG and check some of the basics like -
In the overview screen, are you in the BOINC@AUSTRALIA team?
Check to see if you have one or more projects selected (for example you might only have the Open pandemics selected and there's no work) I'm getting heaps of Mapping Cancer markers.

Start with that mate :)

chooka03

I might start to wind down my work. I'm just not 100% sure if all the credits will come through.
I also didn't realise there's a new sub project - Mapping Arthritis Markers.

I'm always keen for a new badge (if there's any work)
