 :congrats01 Nick on your find, as follows

PrimeGrid: Yet Another PRS Found!
On 12 August 2024, 06:10:14 UTC, PrimeGrid's Primorial Prime Search found the Primorial Prime:
6369619#+1
The prime is 2,765,105 digits long and will enter "The Largest Known Primes Database" ranked 1st for Primorial primes and 155th overall.
The discovery was made by Nick Merrylees (Nick ) of Australia using an Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9960X @ 3.10GHz with 64GB RAM, running Microsoft Windows 10 Professional x64 Edition. This computer took about 5 hours, 55 minutes to complete the probable prime (PRP) test using PRST with 5 threads. Nick Merrylees is a member of BOINC@AUSTRALIA .
The PRP was confirmed prime on 15 August 2024 by an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D @ 4.20GHz with 128GB RAM, running Debian 12.5. This computer took about 3 days, 44 minutes to complete the primality test using PFGW with 4 threads.
For more details, please see the official announcement .

Dingo

I asked the following question on Primegris and got this answer.  Might be useful in the future ??

Is there a place that displays the number of primes found per task attempted or something like that. I am wondering how many GFN-18 Primes there are against how many tasks have been processed.

QuoteGFN-18, b <= 65M:
GFN sieving status: range_end = 550000P, 61186899 remaining candidates for b <= 400M.
=> 61186899 * 65 / 400 ~ 9942871 candidates in the range.

Generalized Fermat Numbers - Search: 194 primes found in the range.
9942871 / 194 ~ 51252 candidates for each prime.

Because the size of GFN-18 is increasing, the number of primes found per task decreases slightly.
It can be estimated with the formula: 0.56145948 * 218 * log(b) / log(range_end).
If b = 65M and range_end = 5.5e20, the expected value is 55444 candidates for each prime.

Estimates for each GFN project can be calculated using b from GFN range statistics - Min/Max in progress and range_end from GFN sieving status.

55444 candidates for each prime is a lot of processing BUT I am up for it till I get bored or there is something else worth crunching.

The largest Prime I have found

Dear Primefinder,

Congratulations! Our records indicate that a computer registered by you has found a unique prime number. This computer is running BOINC, is attached to the PrimeGrid project, and is assigned to the Generalized Fermat Prime Search n=18 (GFN-18). What makes this prime unique is that it's large enough to enter the Top 5000 List in The Largest Known Primes Database.

Since you have auto-reporting selected, the following prime was submitted on your behalf:

Added 141217 : 72752758^262144+1 (2060937 digits)

This prime was found on this workunit which will automatically show as a prime result after verification by the Largest Known Primes Database.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us and we will surely resolve any problems.

Once again, congratulations on your find! Thank you for participating in PrimeGrid.
