Project Summary
The mission of World Community Grid (WCG) is to create the world's largest public computing grid to tackle research projects that benefit humanity.  WCG operates for public and not-for-profit humanitarian research and publishes all results in the public domain.  Based on results up to 2007, WCG was the world's 5th largest supercomputer.  WCG's infrastructure and operations are sponsored by IBM.

At any one time there are several active projects, often in the fields of medicine and biology.  Active research projects are listed here: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/projects_showcase/viewResearch.do


Applications
WCG applications run on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X supporting Intel-compatible CPUs, with BOINC client 5.2 or later.
