Like the idea of being paid to boinc?

Here we go again.
This idea comes up from time to time but this one seems to be up & running. http://www.gridcoin.us/  (they have video's)

Has anyone heard of or used this before? 

The thought of being paid to boinc sounds very tempting.   The costs of running even a small hand full of boinc rigs is astronomical. (well at least here in Oz)

Sadly the answer may be in the news.  As I read recently that Mt Gox (theBitcoin exchange)just filed for bankruptcy and the guy in charge may be charged, as they seemed to have misplaced a few billion bucks worth of user's bitcoins. 

Sheesh.. whats a few billion bucks between virtual friends, right. ???

Any thoughts?

I like the idea that the projects are not for profit and therefore I crunch not for a profit.   I do not and will not crunch for projects that are profit based and if I did then they would have to pay me because I don't see why they should make a profit off our crunching.    A personal view and I don't put projects on the Team Bards if they are profit based, at as far as I know.
