I didn't think pulsars were known in the sixties but narrator mentions them indirectly. Also, keep an eye out for the image of two galaxies colliding. They forgot about gravity.

Remember "Pocket Protectors" where you could put a dozen pencils and pens in your shirt (when you only needed one). Slide Rules ruled the day (I still have mine ... somewhere).
Amazing what we "knew" or thought we knew. What? No Super String Theory?

Great, Mike!  Reminds me of school Assembly on Friday afternoons when we kids were often shown science films produced by the National Film Board.  Several chums went on to studies in various science disciplines.   And,,,,,,you sure had to be physically fit to climb up and navigate those telescopes!   biggrin   +1

I forgot to mention, Stanley Kubrick was so taken by the documentary that he used the voice over guy as the voice of Hal in "2001: A Space Odyssey".  biggrin
