The project has been down for over a week but it is being worked on.  I asked the question on the boincstats forum and got an answer.

 :crazy  There back...  There web site is back up and I just received new work too.  You might find boinc has an extremely long defer period in place so just do a manual update to get the ball rolling again & receive new work now.
