Hi everyone,

glad this news item's subject line grabbed your attention Innocent If you care about your credit statistics at external BOINC statistics sites like BOINCstats.com you want to quickly read the following post (and its thread): https://einsteinathome.org/goto/comment/168176

Project Summary
According to Albert Einstein, we live in a universe full of gravitational waves. He suggested that the movements of heavy objects, such as black holes and dense stars, create waves that change space and time.

The goal of Einstein@Home is to search for spinning neutron stars (also called pulsars) using data from the Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory (LIGO) detector. It also searches for radio pulsars in binary systems, using data from the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico.  Einstein@Home is a World Year of Physics 2005 and an International Year of Astronomy 2009 project supported by the American Physical Society (APS) and by a number of international organisations.

Applications
Einstein@Home has applications for 32bit versions of Windows, Mac, and Linux.  There are three apps, doing different types of data searches.  Current versions are listed here: http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/apps.php

Connecting to Einstein@Home
The project can be found at: https://einsteinathome.org.
Einstein is listed as a project in BOINC and the various BOINC account managers, for direct connection.
