Just thought I would let you all in on my latest "project"....

No, not entering the backyard aphrodisiac manufacturng game....

I have a 10 month old Boy Basset coming from Spain, he flies out of there on 22nd June (their time) and wil be here on 24th June (our time).

He will have to spend 30 days in quarantine (@ $40 a day  :shock) ... and that is on top of the 150 days ha has had to spend in "quarantine" over there (luckily the breeder kept him there for me, as opposed to me paying for him to spend the total 180 days in Australian quarantine at that rate !!!).

His registered name is "Virgilio de Pinadam" - his kennel name here will be Virgil (named after my favourite Thunderbird... he he he)

Hopefully he will be succewsful in the showring, but our main aim is to bring some fresh bloodlines into Australia..... ones which no-one else has (all other breeders are all using the same bloodlines and have been for many years).

he is a pretty suave character, with a VERY big following on the facebook page of the breeder.. here is one of the pics all the women are going "ga-ga" over:

My boy "Virgil" arrived from Spain (via Heathrow UK) Yesterday, and we went in to see him at Eastern Creek AQIS centre today.....

he told me he wants to come home NOW... not in 30 days !

We need to build him up a bit (Judges here like them a bit beefy), so the girls at Quarantine are feeding him extra.

have attached a cpl pics..

Just kidding mate...

when I was out at the quarantine centre, I couldn't believe how many cross-breed dogs were there and I kept wondering "why would someone import a CROSS breed" ? - wasn't until I spoke to the lady who runs the company who brought Virgil in for me, told me that 95% of their business is bring pets into/ back into Australia.....

I often thought that she mightn't make much because there aren't THAt many show dogs getting imported, and they are split up between a number of companies who import them....

now I have seen all the PETS , ... she must be making a FORTUNE !

*Veebee's mind starts ticking over, thinking about how much it might be to get into that line of work....
