Great total; hammer time, Lewis.

Haha, I've still got my colourful programme and yellow Be-in, Be-in, Yip! Yip! Yip! handout from Hair. Saw it at Kings Cross in 1969. Great band they had, Tully, I really liked them. Wow, that's almost 50 years ago!

I saw "Hair" the same year in San Diego. It caused a big uproar when it was announced to be coming to the new Civic Theater. The churches got together for protest rallies replete with signs reading "Don't Bring Porn to San Diego". (Note: There's been porn in San Diego since the Navy first dropped an anchor there.  biggrin ) The City Council met to debate whether or not to issue a license. The resultant publicity made absolutely everyone want to go. I remember that my girl friend (who was eventually my ex-wife) and I waited weeks to get tickets. I watched the Broadway version on video a few years ago. A couple of minutes of full nudity just before the final curtain dropped. How tame it seems by today's standards.

Yes I saw Hair in Sydney in 1969, saw the Beatles in Sydney in 1964 and the Rolling Stones in 1965.   I was a Mod but most of my friends were Rockers.   Good times were had by all, well most of the time.

Having said that...Kashi - The one that had the light stuck on (purple) has resurrected itself last night after being buggered for what?.........1-2 months.
I don't think it will last though.

And there it goes....stuck on purple again.  :hbang:

By geez your not having much luck there Chooka. :(

chooka03

Nah pretty unhappy to be honest Jugnuts.
3/5 are not working anymore. I've no idea why mine have stopped. The only thing I did was increase the voltage until they were stable which is around 0.71V.... way under their maximum.

:compbash:

What more can I say. I feel ripped off.

Did you have a fan on them? Because my "recommended" (ha!) hub could only cope with 4, I plugged the 5th one into my monitor with no fan. That's the one that died.

Although they are supposed to be safe to run at default speed/volts without a fan, the default speed they are talking about is 150 MHz for the cgminer program. Whereas Bitcoin Utopia identifies Gekkos as Antminer U3s and runs them at a much higher speed (250 MHz?), which is why we often need to increase the voltage over what they are set/tested at, to get them to run Bitcoin Utopia stably or at all. Of course Antminer U3s have a built in fan constantly blowing down on the hot chips. Even then they are reported to be unreliable too.

So running Bitcoin Utopia, the Gekkos get hot enough to burn you without a fan on them. It is my suspicion that this excessive heat was the major contributing factor to my Gekko's sad and ignoble demise. Alas, my hot chip has been swooped on and devoured by the seagull of death.

Reuters
"The U.S. government said on Monday it plans to auction over 2,700 bitcoin that were forfeited during several cases, including the prosecution of the creator of the online black market known as Silk Road. The U.S. Marshals Service said that the online auction would be held on Aug. 22, and that potential bidders must register by Aug. 18. The bitcoin are worth nearly $16.1 million, according to the Bitstamp exchange."

Can I just say..... I bought my miners through Holy Bitcoin. I've noticed that Scott from Holy Bitcoin is not approving my review on this product so be aware when you see 4 star reviews on his website.
I think that's really dodgy to pick & choose which customers honest feedback is posted on his website.

I've stated that Holy Bitcoin was great to deal with but with 3/5 miners dead, I'm not impressed.

Just wanted to put that out there. :sneaky:

Last week was a disaster on the mining front for me. One array keeps failing and I awake to find it has been doing nothing all night.  :panic:
Over the weekend I tried an experiment and put all 14 gecko's on one machine that was doing nothing but mining. I could only get one of the arrays to work and it stopped within a few hours so I had to switch back.   :pcwhack: This has reduced my BU credits by half. I think the green lizards are possessed by demons.  biggrin The U3's crunch on without problems
Meanwhile I have enough credits in the PV jail at PG to reach 100 million so I have stopped all of the GPU's. I want to put everything on Asteroids but to do this I need to isolate the miners on one machine. Not sure why my experiment did not work but I didn't have time to investigate (Karen had another task list for me  :jester: ).
Still hot here but a chance of a shower or two by the end of the week.
Crunch on mates ...

Dataman I was away from home and turned off my PC while I was away.  It is the one I have my miners attached to so I had a couple of days without Bitcoin credit as well.  Mine seem to be taking a little bit longer to complete work units but in the whole all four are still crunching up a storm.  On the one PC I have six POGS CPU tasks, one Einstein GPU and the four miners running on a powered hub and all is good except when it is really hot.  :rocks    I have two dedicated servers on the web that crunch 24/7 on POGS.  One is my web server for dingo-den.com and the other I use to backup the web server.  I use the SoYouStart company as they have Linux servers in Canada for a reasonable price.
