I can't afford that much..
It is not worth that much and the seller has no history and no other items for sale.    I only paid $85 + $15 shipping USD for the r-box and I thought that was too much.  biggrin

chooka03

I saw that $200 (USD mind you) for the U3 on Amazon.
Crazy :crazy

The USB ASICS are a hot item imo after watching the silly prices on Ebay for the U1's. Might be able to profit from Bitcoin just by owning the hardware!

WOW
I have to thank Dingo for this one. After checking out the U3 he posted, I when over to eBay and found two r-boxes that were listed only 9 min before. If I had not read the post I would not have gone to eBay! I hit "Buy It Now" and bought them for $200. W00T! If all three work, I will decom. the Gecko's and make my life easier.  biggrin I will have to put them on a stand-alone PSU but that should not be a problem.
Still raining here. 3cm forecasted for today after 1 cm yesterday.  :shock

Here's more if your interested!

$110 for 2 with Pi, PSU and cables.

If you didn't live so far away Dataman, I'd take the gamble and buy the Geckos from you if you weren't going to use them....but you'd probably get more for them on Ebay :)
Can't believe how cheap some of this stuff is in the U.S. I never bothered to look at the U.S Ebay.

I'll be sticking to USB ASICS  This looks good!

I bought one of these:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rockminer-R4-500-Gh-s-/122303361177?hash=item1c79d93099:g:WlMAAOSwt5hYcmH3
He still has over 10 of them left. The miners keep getting cheaper but PSU's have greatly increased. About 6 months ago I bought an EVGA 1,000 W Platinum for $118. I just had to buy 2 more for the miners at $185.50 EACH.  :furious: plus I had to get 8 mini-USB cables (gold) for $13.95 each (10 ft.).   :shock
I am done buying now. When I get finished in a couple of weeks I will have (I hope):
1x Rockminer R4 (500 G/H)
4x Rockminer R-Box 2 (110 G/H)
2x Antminer U3 (48 G/H)
I will probably give the Gecko's away to some of you blokes but I have to check some things out first. The USA has some strange laws about shipping some electronics out of the county and OZ has some strange ones about importing them. I don't care about the money but there are limits to the hoops I will jump though with the USPS.  biggrin I would like to see more at B@A running BU. I want us to get back in the top 10 world wide again.  :oz:
:AUS: :USA1

EDIT: Shhhhhh, don't tell Karen about this.

chooka03

Wow...so cheap! Well compared to what I/we paid for a Gecko relative to output.  :shock

Don't worry..... I won't tell Karen  biggrin Boy are you going to be pumping out some BU number.......and your house will be all nice and cozy with all that heat Dataman  :jester:

What's with campaign #5 only having 20GH/s tasks??
Sometimes I'm successful at completing them with a Gecko/U1, other times 12hrs later it's still ticking over so I start again :( 7400 second for these tasks.

I received 2 r-box 110 G/H and installed them. One is working; the other is not. One has a red power light and a blinking blue status light. The other has a red power light and no status light. I am assuming no status light is NOT a good thing but my search in the forums for what the status light should be has not found anything. Whichever one is working is running 20 G/H in 18-20 min. I checked the drivers, cc_config and device manager and everything is OK for both of them.
@JN: What does your status light do?

Eureka!!! I found the problem. I config'ed this array for 4 r-boxes and ran the 4 USB cables into an old Belkin 4-port hub (not powered). Either the hub is bad or they don't like hubs because when I gave each cable its own USB port, both started working.  :yahoo: It looks like one miner has a burned out status light. I consider that as a benefit as the last thing we need around here is another friggin', blinkin' light!!!   The down side is that when both are running the run times increased to 30 min. How can I tell what the hash rate of a device is?
I should get 2 more r-boxes tomorrow. The R4 has not shipped yet and I don't know when I will get it.

:dance2:

Dingo

You will be crunching up a storm.  Do you need a separate Power Supply for the r-boxes ??

I am thinking of getting one what do I need to have to get them to run.  I know I need the four usb to r-box cables but what else?

LOL DM!

Yeah I found that if a U1 stopped working in my hub, the Gecko's stopped also. I've now plugged my U1's into USB ports on my PC. They actually need hotplugging more than the Geckos  Meh.

You don't need a separate PSU if you have a spare PCI-E cable in the PC for the r-box. It is however a lot easier to use a stand-alone PSU, with a bridge on the MoBo plug. You only need one mini-USB cable to your PC for each r-box (110 G/H - 100 W).
R-Box: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=820214

The R4 (500 G/H - 600 Watt) needs 4 PCI-E power cables, 4 mini-USB cables or 4 USB-MCU cables, a PSU > 600W, 4-port USB hub, 1 bridge for the MoBo plug.

Good Luck!

EDIT: On those links, you can skip the cgminer setup. You just need to power/attach them, load the zadig driver, change cc_config to show how many miners are on the PC and BOINC will do the rest. Had my best day ever and the best is still to come.
